Kinver at Invictus Youth Speaks Competition

On Monday evening, we took two teams to the Invictus Youth Speaks competition at Ellowes Hall. Key Stage 3 and Key Stage 4 teams from all MAT schools competed by delivering speeches about a topic of their choice. Teams of three had the allocated roles of Chairperson, Main Speaker and Vote of Thanks.

Our students were fantastic! Our Year 9 team of Iwo Dokszewicz, Tegan Hands and James Bruce spoke about surveillance. Our Year 10 team of Lola Meyrick, Isabelle Taylor and Mia Thornley spoke about gender representation in the media.

Head of English, Miss Felton, said: “The Year 9s built on their excellent track record of speaking success since the autumn and spring term Rotary Club Youth Speaks competitions. The Year 10 team really impressed us by putting together a brilliant speech in just three weeks and coming second in their age range! Well done everyone.”
