Last week we took a group of Year 10 English students to see ‘Jekyll and Hyde’ at the Old Rep Theatre in Birmingham.
It was a timely new take on the chilling tale, which featured Harriet Jekyll’s investigation into her husband’s mysterious death which took her into a dark and dangerous world – a Gothic world of science, taverns and misogyny that no decent Victorian woman had dared to enter before.
English teacher, Mrs Keane, said: “The students were fantastic! They were so well behaved and asked lots of questions about the play and how it links to the original novel. Overall a fantastic day out.”
