In the week before half term, a group of our Year 10 students visited the University of Cambridge. The day was designed to give students a taste of university life, as well as giving them the opportunity to ask any questions they might have about Cambridge or life at university in general.
The students spent the day experiencing a talk about higher education, exploring Girton College (the first higher education institution set up in the world catering for female students), then toured Cambridge itself seeing the world famous King’s College with its beautiful architecture, and seeing the largest academic library in the UK.
History teacher and Head of House (Grey), Mr Davies, said: “It was a thoroughly interesting and enjoyable trip. Our tour guides were excellent and gave us interesting information about Girton and the other colleges. All of the students were really engaged and appreciated having the opportunity to visit such a prestigious institution. Since their visit they have started to consider what they want to do and achieve in the future!”
