On today, Remembrance Day, we thought that we would share this amazing piece of homework.
Before half term a group of Year 7 students were asked by English teacher, Mrs Wilkes, to reproduce a line from their favourite war poem. There were a lot of thought-provoking recreations, however, Lottie Wright’s diorama of “Dulce et decorum est” by Wilfred Owen was amazing.
One of the most admired poets of World War I, Wilfred Owen wrote the poem following his experiences fighting in the trenches in northern France during World War I. It was published posthumously in 1920. This diorama, which Lottie worked on throughout half term, perfectly depicts the narrative from the poem.
