As Headteacher, I believe mediocrity has no place in education. I am committed to a relentless focus on the highest expectations, academic excellence, personal development, and wellbeing— all underpinned by exemplary behaviour supported through clear and consistent routines. Our student's conduct is exemplary, not only due to our high expectations, but because pupils feel listened to and valued, treated with kindness and respect as part of the Kinver family. Success requires hard work and perseverance, and we expect students to be fully committed to their learning. They are supported by dedicated staff who exemplify and model this at every opportunity to achieve their very best and become well-rounded and ambitious young people. My vision leading the school forward is to build on the strong progress and continued growth of the school through effective partnerships with all students, parents and the wider school community, further strengthening the position as the school of choice, as well as contributing to the Invictus Education Trust ambition of local significance and national importance. Kinver High School has a tradition of high academic outcomes that are significantly above both local and national averages. A strong culture in the classroom drives academic achievement with every question, explanation and decision grounded in research. Quality first, responsive teaching is the entitlement of all pupils where learning is durable, visible and accessible to every pupil.

A Kinver education is character building, where we place equal emphasis on both educational excellence and developing the whole person, fostering empathy, respect, confidence, and leadership. This extends beyond the classroom, with an extensive ‘enhanced curriculum’ offering a wealth of opportunities including sports, performing arts and many other enriching experiences enabling our students to broaden their horizons and develop their full potential. Our House system including Seacole, Attenborough, Brontë, Newton and Charlton build strong character by creating a sense of belonging, fostering teamwork, and encouraging positive behaviour through shared goals and healthy competition. Our students not only achieve excellent academic outcomes, but also become resilient, principled, thoughtful and responsible citizens who contribute positively to their community and the wider world, having a strong moral compass.
